Sire Ma tries her hands at TV hosting

6 Jun – After a long hiatus due to her lesbian love scandal, actress Sire Ma revealed that she will be making her comeback by hosting a TVB Mandarin programme.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the 26-year-old actress, who was rumoured to have been blacklisted by the company due to the scandal, revealed that TVB had assigned her to cover the upcoming World Cup along with her colleagues, as well as utilising her Mandarin proficiency to play the host of a Mandarin-language programme on TVB Entertainment channel.

Admitting that she is delighted to be back, Sire expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to prove herself once more.

"I am so thankful to TVB that they still care for me. I do think that the latest assignment has nothing to do with the past," said Sire.

Sire also revealed that she used to study Communications before her debut, and that the hosting gig will give her a chance to refresh her presentation skills, as well as enable her to add more skills to her repertoire.

"I used to be afraid of speaking, but now I am more confident about hosting," said Sire, and expressed her hopes that the hosting job will provide different challenges and learning experiences.

The "Bullet Brain" actress sparked controversy last year, when she denied her affair with mainland talent manager, Wang Ziqi, who was at the time in a relationship with business partner, Laura Lee.

The denial only caused further problems, as both Wang and Laura slammed her, calling her a liar and a third party.

An intimate video evidence as well as photos showing that she and Wang are still dating at the time she said that they had broken up only made things worse, to the extent that TVB had to force a two-month break on her.

Sire had since made a public apology.
