Takeshi Kaneshiro loses Adonis image

19 Jun – Fans of Japanese-Taiwanese heartthrob Takeshi Kaneshiro were surprised to see that the actor's prolonged absence from the filming industry has taken a toll on his Adonis image.

According to a report on Groove Asia, the 39-year-old actor was photographed looking worn-down, with a double chin and a rounder face as he was filming an airline commercial in Paris recently, causing much criticism from netizens.

However, fans of the actor were quick to come to his defence, saying that his haggardness was caused by the filming period that began at 5am.

When asked about Kaneshiro's latest look, his manager denied allegations of the actor's weight gain, saying, "Takeshi still maintains his rigorous training and regularly takes part in outdoor activities. It is natural for the body to change as we age. You can't expect him to look 20 forever."

Takeshi Kaneshiro, whose last movie was Peter Chan's "Wu Xia" will be making his silver screen comeback with John Woo's upcoming film, "Love And Let Love", which also stars Zhang Ziyi, Huang Xiaoming and Song Hye-kyo.
