Tang Wei denies getting movie offer from Wong Kar Wai
1 Jul – Chinese actress Tang Wei recently dismissed the rumours that she has accepted Wong Kar Wai's offer for his upcoming project, "The Ferryman".
According to Mingpao News, the actress spoke to the media at a public event recently where she responded to the speculations of her joining the high-profile movie saying, "I have never heard of it."
Tang Wei revealed that she has been busy filming one movie after another since 2011, so she plans to take an overseas vacation.
"I have always wanted to go to the Faroe Islands. I really want to see it for myself and experience the long summer days and short nights," the actress enthused. "It will give me the opportunity to have my moment of peace and organise my thoughts."
However, Tang Wei also said that the thought of working with a great director such as Wong Kar Wai, as well as excellent co-stars piqued her interest.
"I don't think any actor would say no to such an opportunity," she said.
