‘To the Beautiful You’ Experiences Rise in Ratings

After suffering from constantly dropping ratings, SBS’ To the Beautiful You finally experienced a rise in ratings.

Episode six, which aired on August 30, recorded a rating of 5.6 percent, which returned the drama back to the five percentile after dropping to 4.8 percent for episode five that aired the previous day.

The reason for the 0.8 percent rise could be the result of several things that happened in the episode. One reason could be that the male characters cross-dressed for a competition, while f(x)’s Sulli returned to the feminine looks and sang IU’s Peach, which was actually a song written for Sulli.

In addition, actress Nam Ji Hyun made her entrance into the show as Lee Hyun Woo’s childhood friend, who is interested in becoming his girlfriend.

It could also be that the romance between Sulli and SHINee’s Minho is starting off, with Minho knowing Sulli’s secret and starting to feel heart-fluttery feelings towards her.

However, even with these exciting events and conflicts happening and the drama’s ratings slowly rising, To the Beautiful You ranked last for the dramas that air on Wednesday and Thursday.

MBC’s Arang and the Magistrate recorded 13 percent, while KBS’ Bridal Mask ranked first with 21.4 percent, making this the sixth consecutive time that To the Beautiful You has been last, despite all the pretty idol group cast and the silly high school love story with a twist.
