"How to Train Your Dragon 2" stands strong

24 Jun – The dragons and their riders from "How To Train Your Dragon 2" refused to back down from their throne in Malaysia and Singapore as they once again ruled last weekend box office chart, from 19 to 22 June 2014. Sadly, they were still unable to claim their throne in U.S' chart and were pushed further down to third place by the newly released "Think Like a Man Too".

It was yet again a close battle in the U.S weekend box office collection. The freshly released "Think Like a Man Too", a sequel from the 2012 "Think Like a Man" claimed the top spot in U.S' last weekend box office with a collection of over USD29.2 in its opening weekend. Came in a close second, "22 Jump Street" collected over USD27.4 with a slight difference of USD1.8 compared to "Think Like A Man Too". Another close call is "How To Train Your Dragon 2" who came in third place with a total collection of over USD24.7.

Even though "How To Train Your Dragon 2" lost to both "Think Like A Man Too" and "22 Jump Street" in the U.S weekend box office, it managed to remain its position in Malaysia as first. Coming in second is Hong Kong thriller film, "Z Storm" which was released last week and the third place goes to Angelina Jolie's "Maleficient".

In Singapore, "How To Train Your Dragon 2" took the first spot in the country's weekend box office again and the second and third place go to the newly released "The Fault In Our Stars" and "22 Jump Street" respectively.

Also opening in Malaysia last week were, "Vadacurry", "Rover", "The Sacrament", "She Devil", "Goal", "Pengantin Malam" and "King's Faith" and "Humshakals".

Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week are "The Trials of Cate McCall", "Meeting The Giant", "Pengantin Malam", "The Transcend", "Vadacurry", "The Angriest Man In Brooklyn", "Last Passenger", "Fugly", "Humshakals" and "Netru Indru".
