"Transformers 4" on top again!

8 Jul – Showing no signs of slowing down, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" has once again successfully claimed the top position for last weekend's box office chart from 3 to 6 July 2014 in Malaysia, Singapore and U.S.

However, compared to the previous weekend's box office chart in U.S., "Transformers: Age of Extinction" weekend gross dropped from USD100 million to only USD37 million last week, which is considered a big drop in collections even though the film still managed to dominate over other movies.

Coming in at second place in North America with a gross of USD21.5 million last week, is the freshly released Melissa McCarthy comedy film, "Tammy" which is produced and co-written by McCarthy herself.

Unsurprisingly, at third place is none other than Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill's "22 Jump Street" which has stayed in the weekend box office top three for four consecutive weeks now, grossing USD9.8 million last weekend.

Meanwhile in Malaysia, unfazed by the much-touted 'horrifying' plot of "Transformers", joining the blockbuster at the high ranks are two other horror films.

As "Transformers: Age of Extinction" once again claimed first place at the country's weekend box office chart, the second spot has got moviegoers locked in suspense with the newly released American crime-horror film, "Deliver Us From Evil", while coming in at third place is the Thai horror film, "The Cursed House" which is also in its first week of release.

In Singapore, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" also took the top spot at the weekend box office chart while the second and third place were taken by "Deliver Us From Evil" and "Tammy" respectively.

Movies that opened in Malaysia last week were, "Curse Of Spirits", "Enna Satham Indha Neram", "Bobby Jasoos", "Arima Nambi" and "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil".

Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week are "Begin Again", "Z Storm", "Bobby Jasoos", "Arima Nambi" and "Filmistaan"
