TVB music programme outraged Hong Kong Netizens
12 Jul – TVB music programme "Battle of Singing Stars 2012" has received overwhelming negative feedback from Hong Kong Netizens due to the poor performance of some of their local artistes.
Among the criticism made was on Hong Kong pop diva Joey Yeung, who was criticised for delivering a lip-synced performance. Some Netizens even commented that Joey is just "too fat" to appear on the television screen.
Apart from that, Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) was crowned as "Queen of God-Level Performer" by Netizens for her below-standard performance on the show. According to the feedback posted online, Charlene Choi went off key and her singing on the night sounded "weird".
When Charlene got word of the criticism online, she cried in front of the reporter and promised it will not happen again in her next performance.
"Battle of Singing Stars 2012" is a musical programme produced by TVB with the participation of more than 10 artistes including Joey Yeung, Charlene Choi, Raymond Lam, to name a few.
