TVB stars to host special World Cup programmes

15 Apr – With the 2014 FIFA World Cup on its way, TVB is using the opportunity to attract more people to turn to the station by creating a new show that will feature a lot of TVB stars promoting the highly anticipated sports competition.

As reported on On CC, TVB, which has won exclusive Hong Kong broadcasting rights for the 20th FIFA World Cup that will take place in Brazil on June 2014, reportedly has invested an extra budget of HKD 40 million (approx. USD 5.2 million) to produce a special World Cup programme.

The show will feature over 50 TVB artistes and guest stars including Ruco Chan, Tracy Chu, Sire Ma, Whitney Hui, Christine Kuo, Det Dik, Tracy Ip, Grace Chan, Samantha Ko, and Toby Chan including 32 others whom will be focusing on the programme and will postpone any drama projects they have.

Some of these stars will also be sent to Brazil to cover the World Cup, including Christine Kuo, who recently revealed that she will be staying in Brazil for 50 days.

When asked if she's afraid for her safety in the South American country, Christine said that she is not worried at all, seeing that her TVB crew will all travel together.

"I have also learned Portuguese," said Christine. "But it's quite difficult. If all else fails, I'll just communicate with my body language!"
