Wayne Lai welcomes competition

23 Apr – Though a lot of viewers are complaining about TVB's decision to air mainland dramas to pull ratings up, actor Wayne Lai said that he has no qualms about the programming strategy.

As reported on On CC, the actor whose new series, "Rear Mirror" was postponed from its 28 April premiere and has been replaced by the mainland production of "Journey to the West", said that Hong Kong actors can't dominate all the work.

Speaking to the media at the press conference announcing the airing of "Journey to the West" the actor said, "The television industry should have a good environment for it to develop. More choices for viewers means there is a healthy competition."

When asked if he doesn't mind his new drama being postponed to an indefinite time, the actor replied, "I don't mind the dates or the viewers' reception. I believe that there must be a reason for any postponement. The company liked "Rear Mirror" when it was viewed to them earlier, so I don't see any problem with it."

"I only enjoy filming. All the other things are beyond my control," Wayne said.
