Wen Jiarong to sue ex-boyfriend
9 Aug – Chinese celebrity Wen Jiarong is suing her ex-boyfriend Deric Wan for swindling and assaulting her during their seven-year relationship.
According to Jayne Stars, her lawyers had already filed a suit against Deric for refusing to pay RMB 500,000 (approximately SG$ 97,984) that he had borrowed from her to buy a piece of property in Tianjing. It was reported that Deric and Jiarong had drafted an agreement before she lent him the money, and now she is seeking to recover that amount after the property had reportedly been sold for millions.
Jiarong also said that she plans to file another suit against Deric for causing physical injury on her. She revealed that Deric had caused a four-inch scar on her neck with a fruit knife during an argument about Deric's infidelity in 2009. Jiarong had allegedly caught Deric having an affair with Chinese actress Zhao Ting and was chased out of their home.
"I opened the door and saw him together with Zhao Ting, then he said he did not love me anymore. He asked me to return the proposal ring, and then chased me out of the house, saying that he wanted to break off with me," she recalled the incident.
Deric had responded the allegations on his Weibo and claimed that it had caused his grandmother to faint when the news broke out.
"My grandma fainted when she heard of your doing, and she is lying in a hospital now. You are not able to hurt me, but you hurt my grandma. If there is any mishap, I will not tolerate you again!" Deric wrote on his Weibo on 25 July.
He also made a sarcastic statement about Jiarong's claim as the victim on his Weibo, saying:
"Deric Wan cheated money and love? This is a good topic to flame, but it lacks one word, it should be changed to Deric Wan being cheated of money and love. This will be a better effect! 7 years, RMB 500,000 is too little right?"
