Wong Cho Lam is the new Buck Tooth So
28 Oct – Wong Cho Lam is following the footsteps of big stars such as Jacky Cheung, Dicky Cheung, Ng Man Tat, and Roger Kwok to become the next actor to portray the role of Wong Fei Hung's good friend, Buck Tooth So.
According to Sina News, the comic actor, who plays the role in the upcoming retelling of the martial arts legend, "Rise of the Legend", stated that his character is responsible for the comic relief of the otherwise serious film.
"My role can tone down the atmosphere a bit, to allow room for the audience to breathe," said Wong, who also had to wear custom-made buckteeth, a trademark of the character.
However, Wong admitted that the director Roy Chow did not ask him to be funny, but let him play a little with the script.
Wong revealed that his character will have some issues with Wong Fei Hung (played by Eddie Peng) at first, before they grow to become close friends.
"Rise of the Legend" will open in cinemas on 27 November 2014.
