21 Apr – Japanese rock band X Japan was awarded as the Best International Band at the Golden Gods Award 2012 by Revolver music magazine.

According to Tokyo Hive, X Japan became the first Asian band to win the award over nominees such as Rammstein from Germany, LacunaCoil from Italy and Sepultura from Brazil, at the fourth Golden Gods Award, organised in Los Angeles, California.

"Right now, we are finishing up our first worldwide debut album. We are planning on doing another world tour," said band leader YOSHIKI during the award ceremony.

"And also to our beloved fans, thank you so much for your support. We are going to keep on rocking. We love you!" YOSHIKI added, whose contribution as the composer for the theme of this year's Golden Globe Awards, was believed to have added their chances for the win.
