YG Entertainment apologise for 2NE1 animal props

12 Jul – YG Entertainment recently issued an apology to animal lovers due to the recent outrage sparked by 2NE1's performance.

Kpopstarz website reported that on 8 July, the group made their comeback on the SBS music show, "Inkigayo", performing with a live parrot on CL's shoulder and swans in the background.

Despite receiving a lot of compliments for their unique performances, some were infuriated by their use of animals on stage.

Chief Editor of fashion and culture magazine "OhBoy!", Kim Hyun-sung commented that while the 2NE1 girls are very talented and creative on stage, the heat of the stage lights as well as an unfamiliar environment can cause animals to become distressed.

He remarked, "I hope they will not do it again."

To this controversy, YG Entertainment apologised and stated, "The stage was held after receiving consultation from animal experts and trainers who participated in putting together 2NE1's stage performance. We will be sure to be more cautious in the future."
