Zhang Ziyi wins tenth Best Actress award

25 Apr – For the tenth time, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi was named the Best Actress for her role in Wong Kar Wai's martial arts drama, "The Grandmaster".

As reported on Filmbiz Asia, on 23 April the actress won her latest Best Actress accolade at the Tiantian Awards, which was held at the closing of the 4th Beijing International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, her movie "The Grandmaster" again became the biggest winner with three awards – including Best Director for Wong Kar Wai and Best Cinematography for Philippe Le Sourd.

However, the movie lost the Best Feature Film title to Richie Mehta's "Siddharth", which tells a story about a father's search for his son who has gone missing.

The winners are as follows:

Best Film: Siddharth

Best Director: Wong Kar Wai ("The Grandmaster")

Best Actor: Guillaume Gouix ("The Secret Drug Life of a Pianist")

Best Actress: Zhang Ziyi ("The Grandmaster")

Best Supporting Actor: Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman ("A Promise")

Best Supporting Actress: Re Lee ("So-won")

Best Screenplay: Zhou Zhiyong, Zhang Ji, Aubrey Lam ("American Dreams in China")

Best Cinematography: Philippe Le Sourd ("The Grandmaster")

Best Music: "The Secret Drug Life of a Pianist"

Best Visual Effects: "The Rocket"
