Zhang Ziyi won her 11th Best Actress award

29 Sep – Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has won yet another Best Actress award, this time at the 32nd Hundred Flowers Awards.

According to ECNS News, the awards ceremony, which was held on 27 September in Lanzhou, the capital city of China's Gansu Province, awarded the Chinese star for her role in "The Grandmaster", making it her 11th Best Actress win for the movie.

It also marked the second time Zhang won the award, after "The Road Home" in 2000.

And while the Wong Kar Wai film also won the Best Film Award, the director himself lost the accolade to Zhao Wei, who was honoured for her directorial debut in "So Young".

Meanwhile, Huang Xiaoming was awarded Best Actor for his role on Peter Chan's "American Dreams in China", while Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress went to Tong Dawei ("American Dreams in China") and Deng Jiajia ("Silent Witness").

The Hundred Flowers Awards is part of the 23rd Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, which ran from 24 to 27 September.

Winners were determined by popular vote, chosen by 100 cinema managers, who reviewed more than 100 films that premiered between March 2012 and February 2014.
